DEVELOPMENT DIRECT ANNOUNCED AS FINALIST IN NATIONAL KITCHEN AND BATHROOM AWARDS

Colin Wong of Development Direct has been nominated as a finalist in the prestigious kbbreview Awards 2012. The national awards are organised by kbbreview, the UK’s leading magazine for the kitchen and bathroom industry. The Edinburgh based business has reached the finals of the Kitchen Designer of the Year category.

Colin Wong, Design Director for Development Direct, says: “It is a real honour to be recognised for a kbbreview Kitchen Design award. The exacting process of being considerately judged in person by a panel of respected individuals at RIBA adds that extra edge that really makes the kbbreview awards so special to designers.

It has already been a real pat on the back for my company, and will undoubtedly assist future prospective clients into understanding that design is at the forefront of our business. Win or lose, it’s a great accolade and I am just happy to be shortlisted as a finalist!”

Tim Wallace, editor of kbbreview says: “The kbbreview Awards set out to recognise and reward excellence in the kitchen and bathroom industry. All the finalists have a passion for this industry and to be shortlisted is such an admirable achievement, and Colin should be very proud.

It is amazing that the industry continues to produce such great talent in the current economic climate. This year’s entries have been superb and the standard incredibly high! We would like to wish Development Direct the best of luck and congratulate them on being chosen as a finalist.”

Design Awards 2011: Ritchie Project

by Dev Direct on June 11, 2011

PROJECT DETAILS – Ritchie

LOCATION – Edinburgh

“This small development set in the outskirts of Edinburgh was home to six bespoke dwellings. This specific plot was designed utilising a lot of stud work which appeared to suspend the units in mid-air. This simple detailing helped elevate the space to have a real feel of bespoke design luxury”

Design Awards 2011: Mackie Project

by Dev Direct on June 10, 2011

PROJECT DETAILS – Mackie

LOCATION – Edinburgh

“This long yet dynamic kitchen/diner really required a minimal approach which is what the clients were naturally accustomed to, being architects. It was therefore not troublesome to talk them into a colour pallet of anthracite grey furniture with pure white tops. There was compromise on the sharp lines which is what makes this space so dynamic.”
